Sakaldiha is located at the ancient land of eastern Uttar Pradesh and not far away from one of the oldest cities of human civilisation, Benaras or Varanasi. The whole area adjacent to Benaras or Varanasi was once the centre of Hindu as well as Buddhism and Jainism culture which were there even before the birth of Christ. Sakaldiha was also the part of those ancient civilisations spreading throughout the land from Varanasi or Benaras or Kashi to Sarnath. At Benaras or Kashi, there is a famous temple of Lord Shiva, known as Kashi Vishwanath or the Jyotirlinga. The other ancient place is Sarnath where Lord Buddha had given His first sermons about Dharma and the first time Buddhist Sangha came into existence. In Sakaldiha itself, there is an old temple of Baba kaleshwarnath or better known as Bhawan shiv. All these descriptions are aptly showing the historical as well as religious value of Sakaldiha.

Sakaldiha As a Place Today

Today Sakaldiha can boast of being a village with all the necessary institutions and amenities. There is a PG college known as Sakaldiha Post Graduate College where the students are receiving the education up to the post graduation level. Sakaldiha is basically a tehsil of the newly created district of Chandauli.
