In the state of Maharashtra is located the small tehsil of Wai. The tehsil is located close to the main district Satara. The capital of the state is Mumbai. Satara district has several numbers of small tehsils in it. Panchayat runs each tehsil with its own set of rules. This helps in maintaining the law and order of the tehsil in a suitable manner. Run by five panches, one of whom is a head panch or sarpanch, the tehsil operations go on smoothly. This administration system is still continuing in India. They earn a decent amount that is enough to live a simple yet comfortable life. The tehsil has an average population with males higher in number as compared to the females. The literacy rate is almost average with males more educated as compared to the womens literacy rates. The town has a few primary health care centers offering medical help by qualified doctors and nurses. The people still need to visit the nearby towns for advanced medical care. All in all, the place is slowly developing and in some time, more change is expected.
