Mulbagal is the headquarters of taluka & town of this Mulbagal taluka in the district of Kolar in Karnataka state of Indian sub continent. This place lies near the No. 4 National Highway. Mulbagilu came from the term mudalabagilu which holds the meaning 'eastern door' in Kannada language. Mulbagal was the eastern most frontier (being the entrance) of Mysore state ; hence this name came. This was also eastern gate to empire of Vijayanagara. One legend informs that the temple of Hanuman here which was founded by Lord Arjuna, one among the Pandavas, just after the war of Mahabharata was over. |
