Bikaner district is located in the western India of Rajasthan State. The administrative headquarters is situated in the city of Bikaner, Bikaner district. The total area covered by Bikaner district is around 27,244 km and comes under Bikaner division. The population of Bikaner is approximately 1,673,562, according to 2011 census.

Geographically Bikaner district is bounded by Churu district to the east and Jodhpur district to the south. Also has Ganganagar district to its north, Hanumangarh district to the northeast, Jaisalmer district to the southwest, Nagaur District to the southeast and Punjab Province of Pakistan to the northeast is located.
