Malihabad is a small town and a nagar panchayat in the Lucknow district in Uttar Pradesh. This is known to be the mango belt of northern India. The place is internationally acclaimed for the growing of mangoes as very high qualities of mangoes are being grown here in large scale. Among the various varieties of mangoes that are cultivated here, Dussheri is the most popular breed of mango grown here. Apart from Dussheri, the other breeds of mangoes which are grown here in a massive scale are Fazli, Chausa, Jauhari, safeda etc. Malihabad is situated at an average elevation of 128 metre. The famous Urdu poet named Hanif Akhgar of USA was also born in the town of Malihabad.

According to a census which was conducted in the year 2001, the population of the town was 15,806. 53% of the total population were found to be males whereas the rest 47% of the population were found to be females. The average literacy rate of the town was found to be 52% which is slower than the national average of 59.5%. Also it was reported that 16% of the population was below the age of 6 years.
