Krishnagiri is a municipal center & the headquarters of Krishnagiri District in Tamil Nadu. It is 90 km away from Bangalore & 45 km from Hosur.Mango is grown as the main crop & the land here is greatly fertile with affluent access to fresh water making it acquiescent for growing crops. It is a rapidly growing & is the place of significant business & housing development. The Krishnagiri Dam located here is at present undergoing expansion & a range of small scale industry zones are being set up here .It experiences Tropical savanna climate during the summers. Summers are usually warm and dry. Monsoon season brings ample amount of rainfall to this region & also experiences a long monsoon. Winters are normally pleasant & calm and it is the best time to visit this place. There are 3 different seasons that can be seen here. The national fruit of India as well as of the Tamil Nadu is mango. Its major crop is also mango and even cultivated in huge amounts. It produces 300,000 tons annually & in Tamil Nadu it is the first place where the mango is produced. Almost 20% of the mango selections like Thothapuri & Alphonso that are produced here are processed into pulp.
