Sant Ravidas Nagar, also known as Carpet City, is one of the districts of Uttar Pradesh. District headquarter is Gyanpur. This district was formed in June, 1994 and is ranked sixty five among all the districts of the state.

This district is situated along the Gangetic plains. The districts of Varanasi, Jaunpur, Mirzapur and Allahabad are situated along its borders. The geographical position of the place is extremely encouraging for agriculture growth. Ganga, Morva and Varuna are the chief rivers which flow through this region.
