Hardoi is a city situated in the Uttar Pradesh in India in the north part and is Hardoi districts administrative headquarters. Earlier in the year 1995 Hardoi had a dense forest of 5 kms and open forest of 13 kms. People from Hardoi go to visit the famous temple of Lord Shiva named the Baba Sunasirnath which has a lot of value among the people of this place.

Earlier in the year 1901, salpetre works, wood carving industry and the grain trade were the major activities which was carried out and they also exported the tobacco, sugar, grain, salpetre and hides. The major source of income for these people was agriculture and this was carried out in large scale and they produced crops like the pulses, vegetables, paddy, wheat, oilseeds and sugarcane. They are also into horticulture like few herbs, mangoes and guava and also irrigation is carried out.

There are many industries which are operating from the place Hardoi and to name a few are the M/s Baba Gauri Shankar Floor Mill, M/s DSCL Sugar, unit Hariyawan, Hardoi and many more. There are many degree colleges and institutes that have come up and the literacy rate has gone up to 68.69% as compared to 2001.
