Khaga a history-

The town of Khaga was established by Maharaja Khadagsen or Khadag Singh of Arakh clan. The Arakhs are from the post Gupta period and at that time, they were in control of a larger part of Doabaa and Fathehpur as well as the regions of Allahabad. It is also said that the Arakh Kshtriya conducted the dashashwamegha Yajanas (the sacrifice of horse) during their periods. With the advent of Rajputs and Muslims, their power declined.

Geography and demography of Khaga-

The location of Khaga is 25.78 north and 81.12 degrees in east. It is situated 107 meters above the sea. As far as the population of Khaga is concerned, it is around 12000 as per the census of 2001. The ratio of the males and females is 53:47 and the average literacy rate is 63% which is higher than the national average. The male literacy is 72% and the female literacy is 53%. The higher literacy rate shows that the town of Khaga has developmental traits but as far as number of females per hundred males is concerned, it required a boost.

The town of Khaga is well on the route connecting several bigger north Indian cities and national highway two is the main artery connecting it.

There are several schools in Khaga such as Rameshwar singh Inter collage bellai and saraswati Vidya mandir Inter Collage and Sri Ganesh Shanker vidyarthi Inter collage which is named after great freedom fighter of the same name.
