Digras is small town and a tehsil situated in Yavatmal district in Maharashtra state. This is small yet beautiful city surrounded by khandai and Bhawani hills. Town enjoys very hot climate in summers and extremely cold in winters. The city is popular for Arunavati Dam which is built across the River Arunavati and it is hardly 10 kilo meters far from this city. Arunavati Dam is most visited place in Digras. Many tourists visit this place just for viewing dam. Apart from this, there are few more places to visit such as Mallikarjun Mandir, Ghanti Baba, Bhawani Devi Temple, Ramananda Maharaj math etc. As per the census of year 2001, the total population of city was 39,169, in which male posses 52 percent of total population and female 48 percent. The average literacy rate of this tehsil is even higher than the national rate of literacy. Number of quality institution and schools are situated here. Inhabitants of this place are well awake by the significance and requirement of education. Numbers of government as well as private schools are established in the structure of city. This is small place but road conditions are good here and the place is well connected to the main cities through rail or road.
