Major town cum tehsil in northern Haryana state, Jhajjar is district headquarters of Jhajjar district. This tehsil was part of Rohtak district until Jhajjar itself was made a district on July 15, 1997. Majority population of Jhajjar tehsil is from Jats Hindu community. They are highly skillful agriculturists and mainly involve in farming activities. Jhajjar seeks attention of visitors due to presence of a famous museum here. This place was erstwhile royal estate in pre-independent era ruled by Nawabs. It was also attacked several times including by Muhammad Ghori.
