Situated on the north side of the Gujarat, Becharaji is a small taluka in the district of Mehasana. Becharaji has a significant place in Hinduism as it is one of the Shakti Peeths worshipped. The tehsil is popular because of the presence of the Bahucharaji Mata Temple and being the market place for the nearby villages. The place has a population of around one lakh, largely dominated by Hindus with certain Muslim inhabited areas as well. The Bahucharaji Mata temple situated in this tehsil is at a distance of around 100 kilometres from Ahmadabad and lies to the west of the Mahesana district. The temple structure dates back to the late eighteenth century when ManajiraoGaekwad got it built. Becharaji being a taluka with more than 50 villages coming under its jurisdiction is managed by a Taluka Development Officer. Bahucharaji remains connected by the Gujarat Transport Bus Service, railways and other private transport service providers. Railway tracks and state highways connected with national highways are networked beautifully to reach this taluka for the ease of devotees and other passengers as well.
