Banswara, a small tehsil in the state of Rajasthan, India inhabits its name from a Hindi word Bans. And the word means the Bamboos. The place is invaded by Bamboo forests which add glory to the view of the place. The place is also known as the Land of Hundred Islands and it is so due to the presence of small little island in the river Mahi.

The citys foundation was laid by MaharawalJagmal Singh and is now under the assistance of Nagar Parishad and is well maintained by them. The city celebrates tribal culture as is situated in the lap of Aravali hills.

The Banswara tehsil is also known to be religiously important and is regarded as the Lodhikashi or little Kashi. And this is so because of the presence of eleven and a half of SwayambhooShivalingas. There are a number of temples and holy places in the city which increases its beauty.

The tehsils economy is highly dependent upon the Agro based and clothing industries. The city is well connected with the other terrain with a well built smooth network of roads and it is also the only way through which one can commute within or around the city.
