Feast Of The Blessed Virgin

Forty days post birth of Jesus Christ, as per Jewish believed Mary was purified and refined. They started celebrating the feast of purification in 5th century. The source of Marian feast is lost with no trace though there are signs that Christian started celebrating Feast of the Blessed Virgin from very early days. By 8th century the feast of Marian were invented in the churches in eastern side.

As per the Roman Catholic worship of the Blessed Virgin Mary the Mother of Jesus is based on holy books including scriptures and dogma. The personification of son of god through Blessed Virgin Mary indicates her honour as The Mother of God. Since the bible ear Mary is identifies as Mother of God. This belief is resonated in prayers from third and fourth centuries. It is believed that Mother Mary has come to revere not only as Mother of God but also as Mother of the Church.

Mother Mary has a key role in the Roman Catholic Church. The churches worship her as the Blessed Virgin Mary has developed over time both in position and appearance not only thru prayers but in form of sculpture, rhyme and music. Popes have refreshed this worship and have tried to improvise on timely basis. History

Pope upholds that Blessed Virgin Mary holds a heavenly motherhood which she endures to grant as God blessings. It is believed that Jesus Christ and Mary are Son and Mother Saviour and saved, these emotions are echoed stridently through St Basilica in Rome. As per the Roman Catholic belief there is no similarity between Mary and Son Jesus, Mary backs full understanding of her Son Jesus and Christ and what he did.

At the time of 11th Century many churches and cathedrals were devoted to Mary. Many devotees started following blessed Mary. During 11th and 12th century most of the pilgrimage used to visit Marian memorials. Mary became very renowned as a sympathetic mediator and guardian of human kind.

Throughout many centuries, Christian community have experienced Virgin Mary through mass viewpoint, Time to time fluctuating from monarch to self-effacement many cultural events and customs took place in these centuries.

Roman Catholic believes Blesses Virgin Mary is a mediator to God, immigrant, supporter to sinners. They believe Virgin Mary guard them from vulnerability and is the most prevailing mediator to Jesus Christ, Son of God.

Celebrations & Rituals

In the month of May, dedication to Blessed Virgin Mary celebrates in many churches. Feast of the Blessed Virgin comprises of singing of hymns of Marians and a story dedicated to Mary recited by the local chorus. Dedicated sacramental prayer Rosary is organised in the name of Mary on the Feast of the Blessed Virgin.

In Christian community at homes Marian prayers are organised on the table with the decorated flowers picture of Marian. Families then pray rosary a dedicated prayer for Mary.
