Eid ul-Fitr - End of Ramadan is a festival of Muslim community which is celebrated globally. It is the symbols the month of Ramadan also known as Ramazan is a 9th month in the Islamic calendar during month Muslim community observes fast. Eid ul-Fitr is the End of Ramadan on this day Muslim Community is not allowed instead they break the fast on Eid ul-Fitr.
History
Eid ul-Fitr falls on the first day of the month of Shawwal which is the 10th month as per the Islamic calendar. The first day of the lunar hijri also known as an Islamic calendar consists of 12 months to track the Muslim events. The day of the festivity varies from area however most of the country follows to celebrate Eid ul-Fitr on the same day as Saudi Arabia.
Eid ul-Fitr was created by the Islamic Prophet Muhammad;it is believed that Eid was first celebrated in Madina post immigration of Muhammad from Mecca. After the arrival of Prophet in Madina he established that the people celebrating two precise days in which they use to amuse themselves with refreshments and cheerfulness. After asking them about the nature of this festival on which people replied that these day are events of joy and refreshment. Prophet then marked this two days as festivity as Eid ul-Fitr and Eid ul-Adha.
For Muslim community these two days are the times of showing thankfulness to god and memorizing him.
Celebrations & Rituals
Eid ul-Fitr is a festival of joy. Muslim community demonstrates collective objective of equality amongst each other on the day of Eid. The festival of Eid ul-Fitr is in general celebrated for one or two days. Commonly Eid ul-Fitr is greeted to each other as Eid Mubarak. Muslim community are also fortified on the day of Eid ul-Fitr to forget and forgive any kind of difference with each other or any kind of hatred that might have happened during the year.
Eid is celebrated typically by Muslim community by getting up early at all times before sunrise. Offer the pre prayer before sunrise also known as SalatulFajr. As per the customs of Prophet Muhammad they clean teeth before prayers, put on the best of clothes for the festival, take shower before prayer and apply itar or perfume.
As it is prohibited to fast on the day of Eid ul-Fitr - End of Ramadan, Muslim community ideally start their day with sweet breakfast which includes dates or fruits before joining a special prayer known as Salaat. As a compulsory act of aid, help and charity, money is donated to poor and needy to display happiness. Â The prayer of Eid is done in open places or mosque. The Eid prayer is followed by oration and followed by the appeal to god asking for mercy, forgiveness, peace and blessings for all the beloved. After the prayer as per the rituals Muslim community visits their friends and relatives to wish Eid Mubarak. Some families also hold large celebrations at home inviting friends, family and acquaintance.
After wishing Eid Mubarak in return gift is rewarded to children’s and immediate family as Eidi.
