Brief Description
Maharashtra has numerous snack recipes that are renowned for their simple methods and easy preparation. Misal Pav is one among them. It is basically a preparation of sprouts that are made in a rich spicy curry. After making the preparation it is garnished with coriander leaves, chilies and onions on an Indian Bun. It serves as a complete meal and this makes it very popular among people.
Time for preparation Thirty minutes Time for cooking Thirty minutes Servings for Four people Ingredients for Misal Paav:-
- 100 Grams Dried White Peas
- 1/2 Teaspoon Powdered Turmeric
- 1 And Half Tablespoon Of Oil
- 1/2 Teaspoon Seeds Of Mustard
- 1 Tablespoon Paste Of Ginger
- 1 Teaspoon Paste Of Garlic
- 1/2 Teaspoon Paste Of Green Chillies
- 2 Tablespoon Thick Juice Of Tamarind
- ½ Teaspoon Powdered Garam Masala
- 1/4 Cup Of Chopped Leaves Of Coriander
- 1/4 Teaspoon Of Powdered Yellow Chillies
- 1/2 Teaspoon Chat Masala
- 1 Tablespoon Juice Of Lemons
- Salt According To Taste
For Grinding:
Half teaspoon of jeera, half teaspoon of peppercorns, half teaspoon of fennel, two cloves, one tablespoon of chopped dhaniya, half teaspoon full of hing, five red chilies, ginger piece measuring 1.5 inches, two onions, two tomatoes, two cloves of garlic, three tablespoon freshly grated coconut
For Garnishing:
A cup full of Farsan, one full cup chiwda, one cup sev, two packs of Indian bun, two lemons, two onions, half cup finely chopped leaves of coriander, one cup of youghurt
For Tempering
Add small cubes of boiled potatoes in a bowl.
To this bowl of potatoes add the curry of sprouts and then top it with chiwda and sev.
After this garnish the recipe by curd and finely chopped onion.
You can serve it hot along with two bread slices.How To Make Misal Paav
- Pressure cook soaked white peas for some time along with turmeric, salt and water.
- Take a pan and put some oil in it. Once the oil gets heated up sprinkle a few seeds of mustard. Now add the pastes of chillies, garlic and ginger to the pan. After frying it for one minute, you can add thick juice of tamarind and cooked peas. Now cook the vessel for two minutes on low flame.
- Not put some powdered garam masala and chopped leaves of coriander in it abd mix well. After heating take it away from flame.
- Sprinkle dal, papri, gathia and many other similar mixtures on it. After this add coriander, onions and green chillies to the recipe.
- At last, you can sprinkle some powder of yellow chilies on it along with chat masala and squeeze one whole lemon.
- At last, top it with curve and serve instantaneously.
