Brief Description
The dish kolhapuri missal is different from the dish Misal. It is spicier and made up with the chutney masala of Kolhapuri. This dish is a watery gravy mixture of bean curry. The Bread is an all time favorite side dish that goes with this curry and is added for the calorie count.
Time for preparation 20 minutes Time for cooking 30 minutes Serves for 4 Ingredients for Kolhapuri Missal:-
- Half Tablespoon Of Seasm Seeds
- Half Tablespoon Of Popy Seeds
- Half Coconut
- Half Tablespoon Of Coriander Seeds
- Salt For Flavor
- Half Tablespoon Of Curd – 1 Tablespoon
- Ten Grams Of Garlic
- Four Medium Size Onions
- Two Medium Tomatoes
- Fifty Grams Of Sprouts
- Two Springs Of Coriander Leaves
- Four Tablespoon Of Cooking Oil
- Eight Slices Of Bread
- Ten Grams Of Ginger
- One Tablespoon Of Garam Masala
- Chilli Powder – For Flavor
- Fifty To Hundred Grams Of Shev & Chiwada
How To Make Kolhapuri Missal
- Clean the sprouts and soak it in water for a day before making the dish missal
- Boil all the sprouts, peal it and then keep it sideways
- Take the required amount of Seasm seeds, Popy Seed, Coconut, Ginger, Garlic, Coriander Seeds and Coriander Leaves into the mixture grinder container and grind it into a fine paste.
- Cut finely chopped onions and Tomato.
- Now, take a vessel and add oil in it to heat. Add chopped Onions, tomatoes, garam masala powder, chilli powder and mix the mixture. Then add the grinded masala into it. Fry the mixture well until the oil leaves the mixture.
- Dry the sprouts by taking out the excess water and add to the fried masala mixture. Add fresh water and the required amount of salt and cook it well.
Kolhapuri Missal
Some Useful Tips
Take a bowl and add small and sizely cut pieces of boiled and peeled potato.
Top it with shev and chiwada and add the prepared sprout curry into the mixture.
