Rajasthan Dhebar Lake

History
Dhebar Lake was created by Jai singh during the year 1685.It is one of the second largest lakes across the world that covers a region of 93 kilometers square. It remained as one of the biggest artificial lakes across the globe till Aswan dam was created in Egypt by Britishers during 1902, which was later reconstructed during 1960 to 1970.In the supremacy of Jai singh from 1680 till 1698, water was required for cultivation across the south eastern portion of Mewar.The maharana followed his father by blocking an undersized river which was named as the Gomati and creating a giant embankment. The dam is 36.6 meters in height.
