Arunachal Pradesh Sela Lake
The sela pass is known to be the habitat for 101 lakes in India and each of this lake has a great importance to the community of the Buddhists. Sela lake is one of these lakes situated at the top of the sela pass, located at the height of the approximate 4200m This sela pass is regarded as the significant location in the indo china border. Therefore the tourists can find the Indian army camps in the nearby area.

History
There lies many stories about this lake. one of them that seems interesting to the travellers are about sepoy Jaswant Singh. The history tells us that Jaswant singh fought lonely against the Chinese in the year 1962 near the pass. During the days of the battle a tribal woman used to bring the food and the drinks to him. What is interesting is that it is said that the woman killed herself seeing the lying dead body of Jaswant singh. Jaswant singh was awarded for his courage and delicacy.
Adjoining Attraction
The adjoining attraction of this lake is the Tawang Gompa Buddhist monastery. This is considered as one of the largest Buddhist monastery in all over India. This place holds a religious importance too. It is the birth place of the 6th Dalai Lama. In the adjoining area the travellers can find Saken trek, one of the best addresses for trekking. This place is situated at the remotest place of Bhutan. It is far away from the modernization. Trekking to this place would be an adventures one for the travellers.
How To Get There
You can set out from Guwahati. This place is connected by rail, air and the road to the rest part of India. From Guwahati you can hire a cab also. Taking a state transport bus will be cost effective. Taking the convenient mode to reach Bombdila and then share a jeep. If you are coming from the Kajiranga National park then you can get to the lake via Tezpur.
When To Go
Sela pass is open for the travellers throughout the year as it is previously mentioned. Only at the time of the landslide and at the time of extreme snow fall this lake remains close. The winter is very cold and the temperature falls to -10 degree. But if you have an adventurous mind this temperature will not be able to resist you.
