Tata Steel Zoological Park
Animals in Tata Steel Zoological Park roam freely. Also a nature education centre is present at the zoo which works to make the interested visitors aware about the endemic flora and fauna and also provides information about various animals at the zoo. Other facilities which are present at zoo are boat ride in the Jubilee Lake and walk along the nature trails. History
The Jubilee Park in Jamshedpur is also known as the Tata Steel Zoological Park. The foundation of the Jubilee Park was laid by Tata industry on 14th January in the year 1990. In 1991, Tata steel zoological society was established which came into operation for undertaking the responsibility of establishing a zoo in the Jubilee Park. It was established by the industry on its golden jubilee. The main purpose of the society was to exhibit various varieties of animals and other wild life in the northern most part of the park. The most unique feature of this park is that the animals are kept in their nearest natural habitat which makes it an attraction for the people. The zoo was designed by the best manager and architect of the city-Mr. N.D. Bachkheti who was a retired general of the forest department. In the year 1994, on 3rd of March, the zoo was opened for the public.
Features
In the zoo, a road is present which surrounds the lake in a circular manner. Also there are well constructed pathways which provide the visitors with the best view of the wildlife. For meeting the requirement of water in the zoo, there are 3 wells in the park. The butterfly garden in the zoo attracts a lot of visitor as a huge variety of butterflies can be seen at one place.

Basic Information for the Visitors
- No eatables are allowed in the premises for ensuring the safety of the animals as well as the vegetation. All the refreshments are provided in the area at the designated centres for the visitors.
- The cleanliness has to be maintained in the zoo area as the dirty environment can make the animals unhealthy and can cause various diseases. Thus, no litter has to be thrown here and there. Instead make use of the properly installed dustbins.
- Water booths are installed at short distances to avail clean water to the visitors for drinking.
- Various sheds have been made in the zoo park for the visitors to take rest when they are tired.
- For the convenience of the visitors, the zoo guide map is provided to the visitors at the entry ticket counter itself.
- Any attempt of hurting or teasing animals is strictly prohibited.
- The usage of musical devices such as mobile phones, music player etc is prohibited so that animals may not be disturbed.
- In case of emergency, first aid services are available.
- Weapons of any sort are strictly prohibited in the zoo premises.
- The information about the animal is provided over the enclosure of the animal so that visitors can gather information about the animals.
- Lockers and storage is provided to the customers so that they can keep their things safely and go through the nature’s beauty without any extra baggage.
