Jawaharlal Nehru Biological Park
The biggest zoological garden in the state of Jharkhand – Jawaharlal Nehru Biological Park was established in the year 1989. Jawaharlal Nehru Biological Park houses a large variety of Birds and Animals, and the biggest attraction of the Park is the huge population of big cats, as a result of successful in-house breeding. It boasts of amny White Tigers, Asiatic Lions as well as the Royal Bengal Tigers. The Park also provides for many activities that interest kids. For instance there is a Kids’ Corner near the Cage that houses Bears, Boating in the artificial Lake here as well as a small Dam. Besides the Park also has a Toy Train known as MOWGLI EXPRESS.
History
This Park which is named after the first Prime Minister of India Pandit JawaharLal Nehru is a short drive from Bokaro Town, and was established in 1989. It is one of the finest Biological Parks in the State of Jharkhand. Tigers , Lions , Bears , Emus and several other animals and Birds have been bred in captivity here. The Big Cats are the star attraction here, since they also have the rare White Bengal Tiger.
