Bhiwani Zoo, Haryana
The Bhiwani Zoo is situated between the longitude E 75˚ 28 ‘and N 28˚ 19’ to 29˚ 5 latitude. This zoo was inaugurated with the aim to acquire conservation education and also awareness generation and also to establish healthy relationship among human beings and animals. The Bhiwani zoo is located on the road to city railway station, opposite to Mini Secretariat of Bhiwani. It comes under the municipal limits of the Bhiwani town that is approximately about 2 km from the Bhiwani Railway Station and about 4 km from the Bhiwani bus stand. This Bhiwani zoo is well linked with major cities like Jaipur, Chandigarh, Delhi and other major cities.
History
Earlier the Haryana State Government decided to close this zoo, but because of Mrs. Kiran Choudhary, then Forest Minister of Haryana, this zoo got its revival. Central Zoo Authority then revived this zoo in the month of September 2006. Under the target towards modernization and delivering best in-class facility to animals present in this zoo, they carried out various works inside this zoo. It included the construction of the toe wall along with cement flooring in Hippo enclosure, building a post mortem room, treatment room, building enclosures for fox, Gharial, tiger and leopard, building 3 number bird aviaries, tile flooring in the paths and many more.
The complete deer park was then fenced with the chain link and later on they planted climbers like Trumpet flower, Rangoon glory and Railway glory near to the fence along with Ashoka trees. Apart from this, they also planted various fruits and fodder trees like Pilkhan, Barh, Mulberry and Jandi in the park in an attempt to deliver a feeling of natural scenery to animals.
In the year 2006, then Honorable Chief Minister of Haryana, Ch. Bhupinder Singh laid the foundation stone for the renovation and also the expansion of this Bhiwani zoo on November 15th. According to the provision of wildlife protection Act, 1972, it is compulsory to obtain permission to set up a zoo from the Central Zoo Authority, Indian Government. So they sought the needed permission accordingly and later on initiated the renovation process in this zoo to obtain the status of small category zoo (Mini Zoo) on 14th of August, 2008.
Chief wild life Warden, Haryana Government, is the chief controlling authority of this zoo. The power supply for the zoo is provided by the D.H.B.V.N Ltd and there is sufficient electricity according to the requirement of this zoo. The entry and exit of this zoo is properly managed.
There is a big tiger enclosure with single exhibit area and one kraal. There are other enclosures for animals like Gharial, Desert Fox, Crocodile, Hippopotamus, deer, leopards etc…
Timings & Tariff
The zoo is opened to public between 9 am and 6 pm during summer season, and during winter season, it is opened between 9 am and 5 pm. The entry tickets for adults in INR 10 whereas for children, they charge INR 5 per child who is in between the age group of 5 and 12 years.

The zoo carries all basic amenities for its visitors including uninterrupted water facility, public toilets and R.O water purifiers and water coolers. They also made sanitary facilities, resting sheds, Children Park and sitting arrangements for their visitors.
