Etawah is a district which is located in the southwestern part of the state of Uttar Pradesh. The district headquarters lies in Etawah town.

The Aryan people are said to be the earliest people who have settled in this region. So, the people of this place came into touch with civilization may be during the period of Bronze Age or may be before than that too. It might be the reason as to why the region of the Etawah district is more civilized than the neighboring places. In 1193 A.D there was a fall of Kanauj and Delhi. This was the time when Muscleman power came into prominence in the city.
