District Barabanki is situated about 29 Kms. from Lucknow. This district is located in the heart of Awadh region. The principal crops are rice, wheat, pulse and other food-grains and sugarcane. Trade in agricultural produce is active.

History:

Barabanki was known as Jasnaul during Muslim regime during 1000 A.D. It is known as Entrance to Poorvanchal. During 1858, Barabanki was known as Dariyabad which was named after Dariab Khan was considered as headquarters during that time.
