West Bengal Belur Math
The Ramakrishna mission was established by Swami Vivekananda to spread teaching and discourses of his teacher Ramakrishna Pramhansa. The renowned Belur Math is the main headquarter of the Ramakrishna movement in the state. It is considered among the most significant spiritual institutions in city Kolkata. The temple is devoted to Saint Ramakrishna Paramhansa. The temple is not only famous for its spiritual teachings and discourses but also for its incredible architecture which has been designed by Swami Shivananda, a disciple of Saint Ramakrishna Paramhansa.
History
Swami Vivekananda founded two monasteries in the year of 1897; Belur Math is one of them. The main motto of establishing this temple or Math is to spread spiritual teachings and discourses of Saint Ramakrishna Paramhansa. The Math invites the young people to join the spiritual system established by Swami Vivekananda. It is among the most visited Ramakrishna temples in the country. The center hall of the math is adorned with the picture of Ramakrishna Paramhansa. Moreover, there is an idol of saint has also been installed.
Weather and time to visit
If you want to visit the Belur Math then you need to visit here from the month of March to October. It is a fact that West Bengal state has tropical climatic condition. It means during summer, it becomes hot and humid while in winter it becomes cold. Monsoon normally starts in the month of July.
