Uttaranchal Tapkeshwar Shiv Temple
This temple is located in the Dehradun city and is a cave dedicated to Lord Shiva. No historical evident are available to determine the exact dates of creation of this cave but the Shivling inside the cave is a proof of dedication it to Lord Shiva. In this hilly area, the cave has now become as a source of business being a lot of devotees come here not only to see the cave but for tourism purposes also. In nearby area, a spring flows and the Sulpher of the water showers upon this temple always. This way the spot has become the more sacred place for devotees to take a dip and then enter in holy shrine. This temple is also has the name of “Guchhu Pani”. A devotee can reach this place after a difficult and tiresome of 1 kilometer. It is believed that Lord Shiva gave milk to Ashwatthama, during the war of Mahabharata. During Shivaratri, a large number of devotees gather here to celebrate the marriage ceremony of Lord Shiva with Parvati.
Architecture
The cave is beautifully designed into a shrine by modern way. To reach this cave a devotee has to step down more than 250 steps. Inside the cave a huge rock is erecting and below the rock, a plat form of black marble is established. On the plat for a shivling with the Sheshnag is established. On the above side of platform, there is not a space to allow a man in standing position. Rock cut architecture is some different from this shrine as this is the example of creation some extra articles in pre created cave. The entrance of this cave is sufficient wide and a door is made to control the entry and exit. Outside the shrine, a rest house of Uttaranchal tourism is also located. In nearby location of shrine, there is a pond to which is considered sacred. So many devotees take water from here to offer the Lord Shiva in the cave.

This shrine can be reached by all the ways of modern transportation.
By Air
Jolly grant airport is the nearest airport located in Dehradun. Airport is 20 kilometers from this temple. A taxi takes approx four hundred rupee per head from airport to city.
By Rail
Dehradun is the nearest rail head and well connected through different trains from other parts of the country.
By Road
Road connectivity inside and outside Dehradun is well. This cave is just at 5.5 kilometers from Dehradun. Buses, taxies are easily available to reach this cave. From Delhi, Lucknow, Bhopal and Chandigarh, various bus services are connected to Dehradun.
