Uttaranchal Maya Devi Temple Haridwar
This temple is located in Haridwar district of Uttarakhand. It is relevant from religious history that two parts of Sati were fell on this spot and since then this area become a Shakti Peeth. Goddess Maya is the presiding deity of this temple. This temple is unique due to the three headed deity. In all over India no deity of any temple has three heads though, there are differences in arms but head is almost one. It is believed that three heads are looking after the Trilok. Sati has boon to supervise the entire universe and the same capacities transferred to the spot where her body parts touched the earth. This temple is one of the Shakti Peeth among Chandi Devi temple and Mansa Devi Temple. In this temple all the wishes of a devotee fulfills if prayed with depth of the heart. According to history, the construction date is not known but as per forensic and mythological analysis, this temple has been constructed during 11th century. There are three ancient temples located in Haridwar and Maya Devi temple is one of them. Narain Shila and Bhairav temples are the other two ancient temples.
Architecture
Internal part of this temple has an idol of Goddess Maya. Maa kali is on the left side and Maa Kamakhya is on the right side. The architectural status of temple is simple. This is a double storied temple having upper storey as a house with a small conical tower on it giving the shape and indication of the temple. Main portion of the temple has a seat for seating three deities. On both the side of deity’s seat two round pillar have been created. Terrace of ground floor has been a border of tricolor which looks good. Top floor of the temple has two simple doors which are generally locked. As per the architectural view, this temple is not a fine example of construction but still the attraction of this temple invites devotees to come here time and again.

Dehradun is the nearest airport location from this temple. Road connectivity is also in better way.
By Rail
Haridwar is the nearest railway station and location of this temple is at 1.5 kilometers distance from railway station. Haridwar is linked with other major cities of the state and country through rail head.
By Road
By road distance of this temple is also good and a maximum 1.5 kilometers distance is required to from bus station to reach this temple. From other cities, this district is also connected through roads.
