History
This ancient Hindu temple was constructed by kings of Chand dynasty. This Hindu worship place is also a great symbol of Indian stone carving. However, there is no proper evidence regarding its constructed date yet it is believed that it was constructed during 10th to 12th century. The amazing exteriors of Champawari Druga and Ratneshwar temples are also carved with sacred images of Hindu deities. This ancient Shiva temple has been also declared as national important heritage monuments as well as has been tend by ASI or Indian archaeological survey since 1952. Mahashivratri, a festival devoted to lord Shiva, visitors or pilgrims all over the country gather here to have sacred Darshan and blessings of God. Moreover, a big fair is also held during the festival of Mahashivratri. This ancient Shiva temple is known for its religious significances. This is the main reason that it is visited by devotees throughout the year.
