Uttaranchal Aditya (sun) Temple
Surroundings of this temple are by famous Valley of flowers and snow clad mountains. This temple is another temple of Sun God as dedicated in Konark town of Odisha state of India. Beneath the tall trees, this mandir is clubbed with Bhumia and Adi mandir in Champawat area of Uttarakhand. The construction of this temple was done in the reign of Chand King. The king was amazed to see the beauty of this area. He also initiated a tradition to organize a Sati Fair each year at this temple location. Since its establishment, the festival is being conducted here as unbroken tradition. In the close vicinity of this temple, mesmerizing skiing slopes and valley of flowers are located. Dense forestry and lush greenery is also an amazing beauty added to this temple. It is evident from religious books that Pandavs took rest here for a few days during their exile. During their stay here, they used to worship Lord Shiva and Sun God.
Architecture
This temple is constructed in tradition conical constructional patter of temple in hilly areas. Front portion which is called as Sabha Sthal is in rectangular shaped while the Garbhagriha is having a high tower of conical shape. Pillars have been provided in support to walls and there is a stone disc carving on the upper edge of pillar also found to provide support to the heavy beam of the roof. Inside the pillar there are sculptures are present showing the main deity of the temple. In north Indian architecture, major attention is paid to the seat of deity and not to the towers and exteriors of the temple while the same is vice-versa in south Indian temple.
Festival
Sati Mela fair is organised here in the month of July every year. This tradition was initiated by the founder of the temple the Chand King.
Attraction
A trekking route and another famous tourist place named Devidhura and Reetha Sahib is also located in the close vicinity of this temple.

This temple is accessible by all the means of transportation.
By Air
Dehradun is the nearest airport located at 181 kilometers from here. Road transports are better in this area.
By Rail
Kathgodam is the nearest railway station of broad gauge. From railway station, road transport facilities are available at regular interval.
By Road
Motorable road is available upto Dholigaon only from there onwards all the way is to be completed on foot. 7 Kilometers long route takes three hours to complete while 5 kilometers long route will reach in 5 hours on foot journey. After Champawat, the road is being repaired.
