History
Established by Swami Haridas, Banke Bihari Temple, Vrindavan is worth valuable due to enriched history. Swami was a spiritual guru of the then singer Tansen. The Swami was great devotee of Lord Krishna and upon seeing image of this deity; he decided to construct a temple which became shrine cum Banke Bihari Temple where unique architecture could be well observed through huge idol of half male and half female body to indicate both Radha and Krishna in right and left sides respectively.
This temple was built in 1862 and remains most rushed place till date. It was built to dedicate Lord Krishna for that Vrindavan city of Mathura district was chosen. The concept of Banke Bihari is mixture of two words “Banke” meaning bent in the three places and “Bihari” indicating supreme enjoyer.

Usually this temple opens at early in morning at 7.00 am during summer and remains open till 9.30 in the evening. Aartis are held from 7.45 to 8.00 am in morning. Devotees can prepare for darshan for that timings are at 12.00 in noon and from 5:30 to 9:30 pm in evening. Winter time Darshans are fixed from 8:45 am to 1 pm and in evening it is fixed from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm respectively.
