Uttar Pradesh Baba Temple
The major attraction of the temple is its Shiva Linga which is said to be installed by Baba Hardev, a saint and follower of Lord Shiva. The temple is also famous for celebrating Mahashivratri, a festival devoted to Lord Shiva. During the festival time, devotees from all over the neighboring cities gather here to have sacred Darshna and Blessings of Bhole Baba or Lord Shiva.
History
The renowned Baba temple was constructed by saint Baba Hardev in the year of 1800. According to legend, Baba Hardev once dreamt about Lord Shiva who ordered him to visit nearest forest area. He went to forest area and found a Shiva lInga there. Later, he informed villagers about the Shiva Linga and all the villagers decided to build a Shiva temple wherein the Shiva linga was found. According to another legend, Baba Hardev worshipped Lord Shiva and in return he was granted Moksha or ultimate salvation. The Samadhi or grave of Baba Hardev can still be seen near the temple.
Weather and time to visit
Like all other cities of Uttar Pradesh Hardoi too has tropical climate condition. It means during summer, the city becomes hot and humid while in winter, it becomes cold. However, monsoon starts in the month of July and ends in the month of August-September. So, the best time to get there is from the month of March to October.
