Tamilnadu Tanjaipureeswarar Temple
Tamilnadu state is not only renowned for its artistic works and traditional culture but also for its various ancient Hindu temples. The renowned Tanjaipureeswarar temple is among one of them. The sacred Hindu worship is not only famous for its religious significances but also for its architecture. However, the presiding deity of the temple is Lord Tanjaipureeswarar who is believed to be one of the incarnations of Lord Vishnu but there are other Gods or Goddess also present.
History
However, there is no proper evidence or record available regarding the construction or origin of the temple yet it is said it was constructed centuries ago. According to a local legend, once there a sage called Chatureshwara Swami came who performed his penance at this place. Thus, he was blessed by Lord Tanjaipureeswarar. Moreover, after the death of the sage, villagers decided to build his grave near the temple which can be seen even today. The main festival which is highly celebrated here is called Pongalam. Hence, during the festival time, a special Puja or ritual is performed.
Weather and time to visit
District Thanjavur has tropical climate condition like all other parts of the state. It means during summer, it becomes hot and humid while in winter, it becomes very cold. Hence, the best time to get there is from the moth of March to October.
