Tamilnadu Parthasarathy Temple
The renowned Parthasarathy temple is an ancient Hindu worship place. The sacred worship place is mentioned in Divya Probondha, medieval famous Tamil literature. The temple has been placed among the 108 Divya Besoms. The meaning of Parthasarathy is charioteer. It is a known fact that Lord Krishna became charioteer of prince Arjuna during Mahabharata war. However, the lord Krishna is the presiding deity yet there are some others idols of Gods also installed.
History
The sacred Parthasarathy temple was constructed by famous Pallavas during the 8th century. However, later the temple was expanded by renowned Cholas rulers and Vijayanagara rulers during the 15th century. The temple houses various sacred inscriptions dating from 7th or 8th century in Telugu and Tamil language. All the inscriptions in the temple are said to be related to Dantivarman time who was a great follower of Lord Vishnu. The renowned Alvar king called Thirumangai Alvar also renovated the temple during the 9th century. However, according to internal parts of the temple, it was renovated during 1564 CE. Moreover, later the temple had been surrounded by gardens and villages. Apart from that the temple also houses an important inscription related to Nandivarman, a Pallava king of 8th century.
Weather And Time To Visit
During the summer, the temperature in the district rises to maximum 44 degree Celsius and while in winter it could drop down to minimum 5 degree Celsius. However, monsoon usually occurs in the month of July. Hence, the best time to get there is from the month of April to November.

Some of the nearest railway stations are Chennai Park railway station only 1 km, Chennai fort railway station 2 km and Chennai Egmore railway station 3 km distance from the temple.

Triplicane town is well connected with other parts of the state by roads. Hence, visitors or devotees can easily hire bus, taxi and cab to reach at the temple.
