Tamilnadu Agastheeswarar Temple
There are lots of Agastheeswarar Temples located in the State of Tamil Nadu and most of them are welcoming lots of regular devotees and casual visitor. Known as 'The City of Thousand Temples', this district have one particular temple that had been attracting regular visitor and devotees to ask for forgiveness and a good marriage in their life which is the Agastheeswarar Temple located in Pudupalayam. The Agastheeswarar Temple is a famous Sivan temple which is one of the Hindu deities and is considered as one of the influential Devas for Shaivism. Most of people go there to pray to this god that is considered as 'The Auspicious One' to get rid of any problem faced by them.
It was told that the Agastheeswarar Temple was built by the Sage Agasthya, also sometimes referred as Kumbamuni all across the India. This is because, the Sage Agasthya is being thankful to the god for relieving his pain after he had been worshipping the god during his stay in the temple.
History
The Agastheeswarar temple was named as another named known for Shiva god because at this temple the Sage Agasthya had been praying for days to relieve him from his pain and sin which is referred as dosha by the Hindus. According to the story, Agasthya had killed two demons here name Vilvalan and Vatapi who is causing menace when he is trying to perform his Shiva Puja here for the wedding of the Lord Shiva. Because of the Sage Agasthya devotion to seek forgiveness from his dosha, the lord had forgiven him and relieved him from his dosha.
How to Reach
By Air
The nearest airport to reach Kanchipuram is via the Chennai International Airport. Known as being one of the great entry points to India by the Lonely Planet, Chennai which is the fourth largest city in India consist of lots of major transportation hub also have lots to offer to its visitor. From the famous George Town market to the beautiful Marina Beach, surely there will be something that will caught anyone's attention. From here, visitor can take another short trip via land to get to the Kanchipuram which is roughly about 69 kilometers from the airport.
By Rail
There lots of options to get to Kanchipuram via train, either to take a train from Mumbai, Bangalore or Chennai. However, since Chennai is only 69 kilometers from Kanchipuram it is the best to take train through the Chennai Central Railway Station which costs you around 270 Rupees.
By Road
There are three major districts that have operating bus to the Kanchipuram which are from Chennai, Bangalore, and Mammalapuram. From Koyambedu interstate bus terminal in Chennai, it only takes 2 hours to reach Kanchipuram and the bus leaves after every 15 minutes. For the Bangalore and Mammalapuram, there is a bus which plies on seven times a day and once per hour respectively.
For those who are interested to go on their own road trip, travelling by car to Kanchipuram is also an alternative. It will only take about one hour and half to travel from Chennai by using the Chennai-Bangalore expressway.

Weather and time to visit
Like most state and district in India, the weather in Kanchipuram can be divided into three. During summer which is around March to May, the temperature's range may vary around 21˚C to 37˚C. During the winter the temperature can drop to 19˚C which will give the visitors a more pleasant stay and a heavy rain can be expected during the monsoon season starting from June all the way to September.
The best time to visit is during March to April where the Panguni Wedding festival will be held in the temple. While for visiting Kanchipuram in particular, visiting anywhere from January to May is very ideal because there will be lots of occasion going on such as the Pongal and Chariot festival.
Accommodation
There are lots of hotels and hostels available in Kanchipuram starting from the 4-stars hotel such as the Regency Kanchipuram, to the 1-star hotel. With lots of price choice, visitor to Kanchipuram will surely find one that will suit their budget. However, if visiting the Agastheeswarar Temple is the main priority, there are lots of budget hotels can be found near the Pudupalayam area.
Tips for Devotees
It is advised for devotees to pray to the Ambica god as it will free them from any bad effect of the Jupiter such as giving conflict in the marriage.
