Rajasthan Shri Hanuman Temple
Lord Hanuman is the son of Anjani and Maruti who was blessed to the couple by the god of wind “Vayu” another form of Lord Shiva. The birth place of the Hanuman is Anjaneri that is very near to Triambakeshwar in Nasik that is a pilgrim place in state of Maharashtra.
Lord Hanuman is considered as the one of seven Chiranjivi and is the only intellectual who has complete knowledge of nine Vyakaranas. Suryadev also known as the god of sun taught him the Shastras. Lord Hanuman is proficient in the knowledge of Vedas and few of the other sanctified books.
No one ever could challenge the physical strength of Lord Hanuman and he has proved this many times in his lifetime by performing the various wonders. His heroism, perception and familiarity about his strengths made his personality a phenomenal. He performs the task of being a messenger for Lord Rama and also being the minister of the army of Sugreeva.
Lord Hanuman has been declared as the icon of Commitment and Assurance.
The construction of the temple was done on the 9th day of Shrawana that falled in the Samvat year in the year 1811. Mohan Dass is the founder of the temple. He is also known as the Salim Singh Thakur of Juliasvillage. He was a worshipper of Lord Hanuman. He offered the prayers to Lord Hanuman with all devotion at the same place where later the temple was constructed. Mohan Das had a dream about the Lord Hanuman but the shape of his body was very unnatural. After the dream Mohan Das planned to construct the temple as per the thoughts in his dream and later the temple was refurbished by the progenies of Mohan Das named ShriKani Ram Ji and IshwardassJi. The idol of the Lord Hanuman in this temple has a moustache and beard and these looks of Hanuman in these temples made him completely unique from his other idols in other various temples.
The holy fire is lighted in the Dhunia that was lighted by one of the devotee of Mohandasji and that still is burning. The holy ashes were then taken by this devotee to the Hanuman temple.
The most auspicious day celebrated in the temple is the Hanuman Jayanti that is observed on the 9th day of bright half of Shrawana. This day is also marked as the initiation day of the idol in the temple. The other celebration in the temple is marked on the 13th day of dark half of Ashwin that is marked as Shri Mohan Das ji’s death anniversary. The few other days that are celebrated in the temple are Chaitra Poornima and Sharad Poornima.
Architecture
The temple of Shri Hanuman is grand and marvelous. The temple has been constructed using White marble. The entire temple like the pathway to temple entrance and the prayer hall and the shrines in the temple have been made out of gold and silver that give the temple graceful looks. The foyer in the temple has been made using silver and even the doors of the temple and the utensils used for pooja are made of silver. The gate of the temple has been carved out of the marble stone and gives the temple spotlessexcellence. The temple walls have carvings in floral pattern and other variety of figures carved out of gold and silver adores on the temple walls. The gold and silver artifacts in the temple speak about the richness of the temple. The idols in the temple are of high eminence. It took around duration of two years to complete the construction of the temple.
How to Reach
By Rail
The nearest rail line is the SujanGah railway station at a distance of 25 kms that is well connected to other cities in Rajasthan in India. Taxi can be hired from railway station to reach the temple.
By Air
The nearest airport is the airport in Jaipur and the temple can be reached by hiring a taxi from the airport and travelling a distance of 3.5 hours of drive.
By Road
Buses from the major cities ply to Jaipur both owned by the State transport and the luxury coach buses owned by private transporters.
