Odisha Kedareswar Temple
Kedareswar Temple is a very prominent Hindu structure in Bhubaneswar. It is among the 8 Astasambhu Temples. It is situated close to Mukteswar Temple in Bhubaneswar. The presiding holy god is actually Lord Shiva. The statue of Lord Shiva is commonly referred to Kedareshwar among locals. It is situated within the region of Kedara-Gouri on the right direction of the road heading towards Puri from Bhubaneswar. At the same time, Kedareswar Temple is ideally located at a short distance of 45 meters from south of Mukteswara Temple. The temple is among the ten memorials within the precinct.
Kedareswar Temple is considered the main shrine in the complex. Several devotees and worshippers from every corner of the country tend to visit the temple during festivals and other important rituals to seek divine blessings. The shrine is facing south and presiding deity is a round yonipitha built from sandstone. Moreover, linga in the middle is missing. The chamber is 2.5 sq meters which is actually 0.9 meters under the existing ground. Kedareswar Temple stands close to Mukteswar Temple. Once upon a time, there resided a couple named Gouri and Kedar. Both were in love and decided to tie the knot. The public was actually against the affair, therefore the couple decided to flee from village.
History
During the elopement, Gouri felt very hungry. Kedar went searching for food and was brutally killed by a lion. Hearing the sudden ntragic news Gouri jumped into the lake. The ruler of Utkal, Lalatendu Keshari after knowing the incident raised a shrine named Kedareshawr Temple. Till date, lovers and couples come here to seek holy blessings for a happy marriage without any problems. The lake is said to have useful medicinal properties. The temple is bordered by Dutiya Kedaresvara on the west side at a distance of 500 meters. On the other hand, Kedara kunda is located on the east side at a distance of 0.60 meters. Gouri temple is situated on the southern side and compound wall on northern side.
Kedareswar Temple has a wonderful jagamohana and vimana measuring 25.40 meters in length and 8.65 meters in breadth, with ganthiala measuring 0.70 metres. The vimana measures 10.60 sq meters, jagamohana measures 9.80 meters in length and 9.70 meters in breadth. Kedareswar temple is actually pancharatha. On a height, vimana is in full rekha order measuring 14.50 metres in elevation from kalasa to pabhaga. With fivefold partitions of bada, the shrine has a unique panchanga-bada measuring 6.40 meters. At the base the pabhaga has 5 base moldings kumbha, khura, patta, basanta, and kani that measures 2. 24 meters.

October to April is the best season to visit Kedareswar Temple. There is heavy rush during this period. It has been recommended not to visit Kedareswar Temple during hot and dry season. May and June gets very hot and dry. The winter season is perfect for exploring the temple. However, it must be noted that winter season is not very harsh and the best time to visit the temple.
