Jaleswar Siva Temple Precinct in Bhubaneswar is actually surrounded by a very big wall on all the 4 sides. There is a beautiful Jalesvara pond located on the eastern side of the temple. The presence of the marvelous pond increases the overall attractiveness of the temple. On the other hand, there are fertile paddy fields on the southern and northern side of the temple. It has been observed that the adjoining indentations in the fields indicate that the structure was originally surrounded by water. Jaleswar Siva Temple Precinct has a vimana, jagamohana and an antarala at a very short distance.
Jagamohana is 9.5 sq meters, Vimana 5.0 sq meters and Antarala 1.35 meters extending the protrusions of the ancient window. On an elevated scale, vimana is certainly of rekha order incorporating normal gandi, bada, and mastaka measuring 11.36 meters. Moreover, bada of vimana measures 2.89 meters in elevation has 5 perpendicular partitions of pabhaga with five impressive moldings. Tala jangha, upara jangha, bandhana and baranda with 3 slender moldings tend to incarcerate the mind of spectators immediately. A broad bada molding measuring 0.16 meters runs over the vimana separating the gandi from the bada.
Architecture
The curved gandi of the amazing vimana measuring 6.50 meters in elevation is categorized by a middle raha and a combination of kanika pagas and anuratha on either sides of raha. On the other hand, mastaka measuring 4.00 meters has a customary beki, khapuri, amlaka, and kalasa. However, gandi is devoid of decoration. On top of antarala is a beautiful sukanasa made after a khakhara-mundi. It is bordered by two small rekha deuls. Over it there is a contemporary chaitya motif bordered by dual conches and actually crowned by an impressive kirtimukha. It is covered by a gajakranta. On top of gajakranta is an eye-catching Hanumana in flying stance and carrying a hill in his hand.
The bottom of gandi is ornamented with a sequence of small rekha deuls in the form of angasikharas on pagas positioned in sliding order from kanika paga to the raha as observed in Subarnesvara. It must be noted that gandi also does not have decoration. Jagamohana of the structure actually looks to be a recent construction like Parsuramesvara as the last and first grahas are hidden by the rear wall of jagamohana. On a particular height, jagamohana is a marvelous pidha deul integrating normal bada, mastaka and gandi measuring 7.40 meters from kalasa to khura.

By Road
Newly built bus stand located in the heart of the city is the best way to reach Jaleswar Siva Temple Precinct. There are many private and government buses that ply on this route. Bus fares are very nominal. However, it has been suggested to book the bus tickets in advance during peak festival season.
By Rail
Bhubaneswar railway station is the best place to reach the temple. The railway station is situated in the middle of the city. The city is conveniently connected with Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai and other metros. There are numerous daily, bi-weekly and weekly trains for Bhubaneswar from different cities in India.

Significance Of The Temple
According to some traditions Jalesvara Temple was in fact made by Padma Keshari. He belonged to Keshari dynasty and was the last Keshari ruler. Though, this tradition does not go with the genealogical customs of Somavamsis. Numerous noteworthy rites like Chandana Yatra, Sivaratri, Janmastami, Siva Vivaha, Dolapurnima, Pindadana and Chandana Yatra are observed.
