Odisha Chudanga Gada
Chudanga Gada is often considered to be a renowned fort in Bhubaneswar, Orissa. Previously, it was known as Sarangagarh. It is located at about 14km from the old town of Cuttack. It is situated right on the banks of River Prachi. Currently, there are plenty of ruins that stretch over vast acres of land. There are many people that visit this place from different corners of the country. Currently, this is a protected monument by the Archaeological Survey of India.
History
As far as the legends are concerned, the fort was possibly constructed by Lalatendy Kesari. He belonged to the Kesari dynasty. The area had large numbers of lakes and water bodies filled with lotus. From this, the name Sarangagarh was derived. However, the fort was later renovated by Baraha Kesari after defeating Karna Deva who captured the fort. It was from then that the fort got its current name after the name of the victor, Chodaganga Deva. However, the fort dates back almost to 12th century.

It is not difficult to reach this fort either through rail or road.

It is only 9km from the Baranga Railway Station.
By Road
The site can be reached through Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Road and the road transportation facilities are well developed.

People visit this fort round the year. Apart from the local people, this fort is also visited by numerous other tourists for its rich architecture.
