Maharashtra Sundar Narayan Temple
Nasik city is not only famous for its tradition and culture but also for its various ancient Hindu temples. The prominent Sundar Narayan temple is among one of them. This sacred Hindu worship place is considered among the oldest Hindu temples in the district of Nasik. It is frequented by thousands of pilgrims every year. Hence, the sacred Sundar Narayan temple is considered among the most visited sacred Hindu worship places in the state of Maharashtra.
History
The sacred Sundar Narayan temple is situated close to famous Victoria Bridge. This sacred Hindu worship place was constructed by Gangadhar Y. Chandrachud in the year of 1756. The important point about the temple is that it is east facing. Moreover, the temple houses the holy idols of Goddess Saraswati, Lakshimi and Lord Vishnu. Here, devotees can also see tiny carvings of Narayana, Hanuman and Indira, the king of Devas on temple’s walls. The sacred temple is a master piece of Indian architecture with Mughal sculpture impressions on it. Apart from that the temple has been designed in such manner so that on every March 21, the sun-rays fall just upon the sacred idols installed in the temple.
Weather and time to visit
Nasik city is famous for its tropical climate condition. Thus during the winter , the temperature drop down to minimum 9 degree Celsius while in summer it rises to 44 degree Celsius. Hence, the best time to get there is from the month of March to October. However, visitors or pilgrims cal also visit during the festival season.
