Maharashtra Kusumeshwar Mandir
Maharashtra state is famous for its ancient temples and the renowned Kusumeshwar Mandir or temple is among one of them. This sacred Hindu worship place is considered among the most visited Shiva temples in the district of Raigad. It is believed, the place wherein the current temple is situated used to be a Tapovan or meditation area. Hence, due to its sacredness, most of the saints or sages liked to perform their penance at this place.
History
The ancient Kusumeshwar temple was constructed by Maratha ruler. It is a known fact that Maratha kings were great followers of Lord Shiva. According to history, Shivaji, a great Maratha king was constructed many Shiva temples during his rule in the state. According to Hindu mythology, Shiva is the form of fundamental source of energy thus called as Adi Shakti. It is said that the mother of Shivaji, a great Maratha king was a great follower of lord Shiva thus named her son as Shivaji. Hence, during the rule of king Shivaji various Hindu Shiva temples were built and Kusumeshwar mandir or temple was among one of them.
Weather and time to visit
Maharashtra state can be visited throughout the year as the climate conditions are always very favorable. Hence, if you want to visit at Kusumeshwar temple then you need to visit from the month of March to October. However, followers of Lord Shiva can also visit during the festival season of Mahashivratri.
