Kerala Sri Durga Bhagavathi Temple
Sri Durga Bhagavathi Temple, Uliyakovil is considered to be one of the 108 temples of Durga. It is visited round the year by devotees from different parts of the country. Durga Devi is worshipped here and she is in her Vaishnava form, where she is associated with Chakra, Sankha, Padman and Gandha. The temple is famous and popular because it is considered to be one that grants all the wishes.
History
It is believed that this temple was consecrated by Parasurama, the legendary saint of the warriors. In fact, he is also credited with creating the state of Kerala. There are numerous stories told by the legends in association with this temple. These stories are largely related to the supreme benevolence of the Goddess. As far as the history is concerned, it is said to be the oldest temples of Kerala. Many miracles are also associated with this temple. It is also believed that on March 20th, the Goddess stepped out with five elephants. The temple is also unique in the sense that there are no Upavedas in the walls of the temple. Thus, March is the ideal time to reach the temple.
Best Time To Visit
It can be easily reached by road from the nearest city Madikeri, Chandanakampara. There are well connected railway lines to these cities through which the temple can be reached.

The art of melam is the main event associated with the temple. It generally takes place in the month of March-April when devotees crowd here in the temple.
