Karnataka Talapady Temple
The Indian state of Karnataka is a land of sacred Hindu temple. The renowned Shree Durga Parameshwari Mandir or Talapady temple is among one of them. This sacred Hindu worship place is devoted to its main deity Shree Durga Parameshwari Maa. However, there are two other important Hindu idols have been installed such as Lord Ganapathi and Veerbhadra.
History
However, there is no proper evidence available regarding the history of this sacred Hindu worship place yet it is believed that the temple was constructed centuries ago by an unknown dynasty. According to a popular folklore, the temple was constructed by a King of Karnataka state during the 13th of century. It is believed that one of the great devotees of Maa Durga Parameshwari, called Saint Uttuswamy visited this place, the saint here, found a sacred idol of Maa Durga and decided to install it that place. One day, while sleeping, he dreamt about Goddess Durga, who ordered him to construct a magnificent temple. It is said that the saint was very poor and could not afford to build such giant temple. So, one day again, while dreaming , he was instructed to visit the king palace and asked for money., moreover, when the saint visited that Palace, the king easily recognized as he was also instructed by Goddess Durga to build a glorious sacred temple at the place. However, according to historian, it is still unknown who constructed this sacred Hindu worship place. A common theory is that, the temple was constructed by a local King.

Some of the nearby railway stations are Mangalore railway station, Kankanadi railway station, Tokkottu railway station and Mangalore Junior railway station.
By Road
Talapady town is well connected with all other major towns and cities of the state by developed roads. Hence, from the railways station or airport, visitors or devotees can easily hire buses, cabs and taxis to reach at the temple.
Weather and Time to Visit
Visitors and devotees can visit the sacred temple throughout the year as the temple remains open throughout the year. However, the best time to visit the temple is during the festival of Navaratri. During the festival season of Navaratri, devotees can participate in special “Puja” or prayer.
