Jharkhand Bhadrakali Temple
Bhadarkali temple also famous as Bhaduli temple is located at a distance of 35 km away from east of Chatra and also is at a throw of half kilometer from Itkhori’s Bhadrakali complex. The River Mahanadi flows in the vicinity of the temple and is bounded by thick forests, trees and mountains all around it. The three sides of the temple are bounded by River Buxa and thus form a U like shape. This place can also be reached covering a distance of 16 km via road from west of Chauparan. This temple is part of one of the 51 Shakti Peeth.
The temple is beautified with the water reservoir that is located in the complex of the temple. The Chhath festival on the occasion of Bishua is celebrated with all enjoyments in the temple and many devotees visit the temple to take the holi bath in the reservoir that is located in the temple complex. The devotees offer their prayers in the temple at the time of Bishua.
The temples history is linked back to the period of the reigns of Shak, Guptas and the Vardhans that is around 1500 to 1800 years old when the black color statues were constructed and these have been found during the recent quarries.
