Gujarat Chamunda Mataji Temple Chotila
This sacred Hindu worship place is located on the top of famous Chotila hill area. According to the Hindu mythology, during the war with demons Mund and Chund , Maa cut demons heads and gave to Devi Ambika also known as Mahakali. Now, the Mahakali turned to Chamunda or she is one of the forms of Maa Mahakali. The temple has much religious significances thus visitors or devotees all around the country visit here and have Darshan of Maa Chamunda in order to fulfil their wishes.
History
The area of Chotila is historically called as Panchal. The area is a well known worship location for the Chamunda Mataji. Maa Chamunda is considered amongst 64 incarnation of fundamental energy or Shakti. Some other incarnations of Chamunda are including Kali Mataji, Bahuchar Mata, and Amba Maa etc. moreover, Mata Chamunda is the family goddess or Kuldevi of various Hindus. However, in the past the area of Chotila used to be a princely reign of famous Khachar dynasty. The total area of this worship place is around 18 kilometres. According to the Hindu mythology, Chamunda mataji cut the head of demons Mund and Chund during a war hence she became famous as Maa Chamunda. Nowadays, the renowned Chamunda Mataji Mandir or temple is famous for its special religious Havan that held during the festival of Navaratri. This religious Havan is normally performed on the top of the mountain wherein Chamunda temple situated. Navaratri festival is highly celebrated with great enthusiasm in the area. Chotila being a renowned religious place is crowded with thousands of devotees or visitors throughout the year.

By Air
Visitors or devotes who wish to reach at Chamunda Mataji mandir or temple by air-transport can easily get direct flights from all the domestic airports in the country. However, civil airport is the nearest airport, situated only 49 km distance from the temple.
By Rail or Train
Visiting at Chamunda Mataji Mandir or temple by using railway-transport is very easy as they can get various trains to Chotila town. Some of the nearest railway stations are Lakshmanchi railway station only 18 km, than junior railway station also 18 km and Daladi railway station 23 km far from Chotila town.
By Road
Regular buses, taxis and cabs connect the city to all other neighbouring parts of the country. Hence, visitors can easily get there by using road-transportation.
Weather and Time to Visit
The climate conditions at Chotila area are just like all other parts of the state. It means during the winters, the city becomes cold and while summers it becomes hot and scorching. Hence, best time to visit at Chamunda Mataji temple is during the month of October to March. However, devotees can also visit here during the festival period of Navaratri.
