Delhi Sri Ramakrishna Temple
It is a known fact that Ramakrishna made a simple Narendra to renowned Swamy Vivekananda. Swamy Vivekananda established the Ramakrishna mission to spread teachings and discourses of its enlightened master Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa. This sacred temple is devoted to its main deity Sri Ramakrishna Paramhans. However, there are two images also installed just besides him – one of Swamy Vivekananda and second of his wife.
History
This temple was constructed after the establishment of Ramakrishna math in the city during the late 19th century. The main objective of this shrine is to spread sacred teachings as well as discourses of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa. It is said that when Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa was going to die he called his disciple Swamy Vivekananda and ordered him to build a spiritual organization to help people. Hence, Swamy Vivekananda established Ramakrishna mission in the country.
Now, this mission has various branches all over the country and abroad. It is a fact that wherever Ramakrishna mission has been established there also a temple of Ramakrishna set up. Hence, the prominent Sri Ramakrishna temple of Delhi is among the important temples of Ramakrishna in the country. At the shrine, daily sacred Puja or prayer is conducted and during the prayer all the devotees of Ramakrishna go into the spiritual aura of great saint. During the religious festivals, devotees all around the country visit at the temple to have the sacred Darshan of great mystic and saint Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa.
How to Reach
By Air
Visitors or devotees can get direct flights to Indira Gandhi international airport from various airports in the country to get there.
By Rail
Sadar Bazar railway station ½ km, New Delhi railway station 1 km and Delhi railway station also 1 km are the nearest railway stations.
By Road
Regular buses, cars and taxis connect the city to all other neighbouring parts of the country. Hence, visitors or devotees can easily hire taxi, bus and car to reach at the temple.
Weather and Time to Visit
Delhi has changeable climate conditions. It means during the summer it becomes hot and scorching and temperature rises to 47 degree Celsius while in winters it becomes cold and temperature could drop down to 1 degree Celsius. However, during monsoon, city often experience good rainfalls.
So the best time to get there is from the month of October to March. However, devotees of Ramakrishna can visit the temple throughout the year.
