Delhi Sri Aiyyappa Swamy Temple R K Puram
From the 1971, some south Indian peoples who were devotees of Lord Aiyyappa gathered in Delhi, formed a community and become first member to establish this temple. The community started organizing Poojas, Kirtan of Lord Aiyyappa. This temple is not only in Delhi but the second most important temple of Lord Aiyyappa in the country. This temple is also called Mahakshetra due to its vast importance across the country. The vastness, importance and significance of this temple are next to the holy shrine of Lord Aiyyappa located in Sabrimala in Kerala state of India. In this temple all the Pooja ceremonies, festivals and cultural programs related to Lord Aiyyappa organized here. Various devotees from all the parts of the country gather here to celebrate each and every function of the temple.
Architecture
This temple is constructed in a mixed architectural pattern. Though, no traditional Dravidian style is adopted in this temple as the same is constructed according to modern style. Upper portion (roof) of this temple looks like a Portuguese style of construction while plinth and covered are in roman style. A huge area in between the four side supported corridors is with a great Mandapam. Height of the Mandapam is like Kailasha. Roof of the temple is in slope shape with the ventilation facilities like the residences made in hilly areas. Conical shape of Mandir as well as the Mandapam is unique. Inside the temple, space has been provided rather than utilizing the same through pillars and carvings/arches like traditional Dravidian style. Entrance gate of the temple is provided with the approach path fully covered with a conical roof and also the outer portion with a large double storied rest house for devotees.
Festivals
Mandal Pooja, Makara Villaku, Navaham and Annual Utsavam are some of the important festivals which are orgasnised here every year. Each festival lasts for minimum of three days. Various devotees, who are in search of spiritual relief, attend these festivals with complete peace and faith across the country.

By Air
Indira Gandhi International Airport is the nearest airport located at 21 kilometers from this temple.
By Rail
RK Puram has no connection of metro rail. Hence, from Delhi railway station one will have to catch road transportation. Metro is available upto Rajiv Chowk and from there road transports are easily available.
By Road
Buses of DTC, private taxies, Auto rickshaws are easily available from railway station, airport to reach this temple.
