Chhattisgarh Gandheshwar Temple
Chhattisgarh state is the land of religious places. While visiting in the state, you will find various Hindu temples of religious significances. The renowned Gandheshwar temple is one of them. This sacred temple is devoted to Lord Shiva who is considered as the destroyer and creator of entire universe. History
However, there is no evidence about the date and time of its construction but still it is said it is one of the sacred Shiva temples in the Chhattisgarh state, India. According to the Hindu mythology when lord Shiva was meditating on the kailash Parvat or mountain, he realised to spend his time to Mritayaloka or earth then he took various incarnations in order to visit the earth.
The sacred sculptures of the temple show its religious significances. According to Hindu mythology, Shiva is the form of Shakti or power who is the creator or destroyer of the world. On the top of Gandheshwar temple, there are various images of Shiva that displays the epic stories. However, inside the temple, A Buddha idol is also found. Some other important statues in the temple are Shiva, Natraj, Mahisasur mardiniji and Garud Narayan

By Rail
Sirpur town is well connected with other important towns or cities of Chhattisgarh state by railway networks. Some of the nearest rail heads are Sirpur railway station only 2 km, Sirpur Kagaznagar railway station about 20 km and Makudi railway station also 20 km far from Gandheshwar temple.
By Road
By using roadways, visitors or devotees can easily reach at Gandheshwar temple as there are plenty of transport options available for them. Hence, going via roadways is a wonderful option for the pilgrims or visitors.
Weather and Best Time to Visit
The best time for visiting at Gandheshwar temple is from the month of October to March. However, during the Mahashivratri, a Shiva festival, visitors or devotees can also visit here to have Darshan of Lord Shiva. However, visitors need to remember that during Mahashivratri, the area become crowd-area thus visitors need to prepare themselves before going at Gandheshwar Temple.
