Andhra Pradesh Veerabhadra Swamy Temple
Andhra Pradesh state is a land of ancient temples and religious places and Veerabhadra Swamy temple is among one of them. This sacred Hindu worship place is devoted to its main deity Lord Veerabhadra who is believed to be one of the incarnations of Lord Shiva. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Veerabhadra was created out of Rudra of Lord Shiva during his Tandava and Yagna performance. This sacred place is considered among the most visited religious places in the district of Warangal.
History
The sacred Veerabhadra Swamy temple was constructed by Kakatiya kings during the 13th of century. The significances of the temple have been also found in ancient Kakatiyas scriptures. It is believed that Lord Veerabhadra once visited this place. This is the main reason that followers of Lord Veerabhadra constructed the ancient temple. It is a known fact that Kakatiya rulers were the great followers of Lord Veerbhadra thus constructed this ancient temple devoted to Lord Veerabhadra. Moreover, during the festival of Mahashivratri, a religious ritual called Jatara has been performed in the temple. Hence, during the festival pilgrims all over the state gather here to participate in religious activities.
Weather and time to visit
If you want to visit at Veerabhadra Swamy temple then you can visit here throughout the year. However, the best time to visit the sacred city is from the month of March to October. Moreover, if you want to participate in Jatara then you need to visit the temple during Mahashivratri festival.
