Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple is a Hindu temple situated in the city of Srinivasamangapuram,, around ten km away from Tirupati and towards the west of Thirumala hills. It is believed that the prime deity of the temple, Lord Sri Venkateswaraswami and his wife Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru were united into blissful matrimony in this place. The devotees from near and distant states planning to offer prayers to the deity perform archana on a daily basis in the temple. They love to reach this divine destination by climbing the innumerable steps on the Chandagiri hills.
History
As per the legends, the Lord Venkateswara Perumal married the princess Padmavathy Thaayaar by around 1540. Once the marriage ceremony got over, Perumal paid a visit to the holy ashram of Prince Agasathya, located near the banks of the river Swarnamuki, in Chandragiri Hills. It is believed that Prince Agasthya did not allow the newly married couple to climb up the stairs and requested them to stay in his ashram for six months. Later, the location where the Lord stayed with his bride became a holy shrine and acquired the name, Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple.
Discovery of The Temple
The ancient form of the temple was discovered by some devotees before 1540. It is believed that the very first form of this holy place was completely dilapidated due to a furious storm and other foreign interferences. Further, the hamlet of the temple called the Sithakudam Srinivasapuram was believed to have been donated to the Annamacharya in the year 1540. The present form of the temple came into existence by the relentless efforts of Chinna Thirumalaiyya, the grandson of Annamacharya.

Significance
The temple is regarded most auspicious for bonding couples into holy matrimony. The couples perform the ceremony of ‘Kalyana urchav’ of the Lord and his wife Goddess Padmavathy Thaayaar. The ceremony culminates in form of an actual marriage ceremony with the follow-up of the sacred practice of tying the knot in the presence of the divinity, inside the temple. The ceremony of marriage is held almost every day by the special priest called Sri Narasimhacharyalu. During days when no urchav ceremony is performed, the authorities and priests of the temple voluntarily conduct the marriage ceremonies of the young boys and girls eagerly waiting to get married.
