Andhra Pradesh Chaturmukha Brahma Temple
Chaturmukha Bramha Temple is one of the temples of Andhra Pradesh dedicated to Lord Bramha. This temple is after the Tirthraj Pushkar of Rajasthan where the Bramha temple is located. Exact location of this temple is Cheblore town of the Guntur district. During the reign of Kakatiyan kings in this area, the Cheblore village developed well and various temples constructed in close vicinity. In this town more than 100 temples are existing and this shows the cultural and religious heredity of the area. Location of this temple is just 10 miles in the southern direction of Guntur city.
History
During the reign of various dynasties, this temple was existed. In this temple Lord Bramha and Lord Shiva are worshipped. Earlier this place was called “Sambhole” and the present nomenclature is derived from the same due to transformation of pronunciation. During the reign of Kakatiyan kings, this temple attained a fame and dignity. A Kakatiyan general Jayappa also wrote books on the traditional dance of India “Nrutyaratnavali” and this book got lime light accordingly the temple also got dignity. Though the exact dates are not confirmed regarding construction of this temple.
Architecture
Architecture of this temple is in a mixed pattern. A Gopuram which is constructed in traditional Dravidian style and annexies attached to the temple are in rock cut style. Gopuram has been constructed over a simple and huge gate. This Gopuram is six storied. Base of the Gopuram is in Square shape and having thick walls with fine carving on exterior side. This is added specialty that every storey has a gate but that entrance is only for show as after original main gate, these gates has no routine usages. Alongside the Gopuram, annexies are there. Main temple has a gate which is well supported with Jali work on both sides. Front of the gate has a wide verandah of white marble. Width of the verandah is 26 ft and has the pillars of marble. Every pillar is a base of rectangle and rising of the pillar is in square shape till 2.6ft height. Stone discs, carvings and then an addition of square shape block more than 1.54 ft height make the pillar beautiful. All the pillars have stone discs at the top and well attached with the beam of the verandah. An open surrounding of approximately 6ft width is around the temple. Base of the main temple has platform of 1ft above the normal ground level. This temple is located in the pond. Square shape design and a conical small Gopuram on the Garbhagriha is the main attraction of this temple. Gopuram has molding and carving on exteriors. A pathway leads to the temple and connected to the eastern end of the pond. Temple is supported with 1ft high boundary to avoid water entrance into the temple.

New Guntur is the nearest railway station and almost the major trains are connected through this junction. Road transport is in good connectivity. This temple lies only at 39 kilometers from railway station.
